2026-27 Mansfield Student Scholar Application

The Mansfield Institute for Social Justice and Transformation invites applications from current full-time ��Ƶ undergraduates to serve as Mansfield Student Scholars for the 2026-27 academic year. Mansfield Scholars are passionate about issues of social justice and eager to serve as student leaders. Mansfield Scholars will lead student explorations of social justice issues, help organize the Institute's annual Mansfield Lecture, and support the Institute’s initiatives. Mansfield Scholars will earn a scholarship toward tuition in the 2026-27 year. Mansfield Scholars must remain in and complete required Mansfield Scholars activities to maintain the scholarship.

Please describe your specific experiences exploring and working toward social justice. Describe where, when, and how you participated. These can include activities you completed in your classes, outside of class, as a volunteer, as part of a paid work experience, etc.

What social justice issues are you eager to learn more about and possibly become involved in?

Have you taken any courses with a strong social justice component? If so, please describe your experience. What course was it, when did you take it, and who taught it? What did you learn? How do you imagine applying what you learned to issues you care about? If you have not yet taken a course with a strong social justice component, are there any social justice-related courses you anticipate taking in the future? If so, which ones, and why?
