The Black Student Union (BSU) hosts socials, networking events and guest speakers to spotlight Black excellence and provide low-pressure social activities for students on campus.

Dr. Garcia, a professor in the School of Education at University of California-Berkeley, discussed measures to transform institutions and make them more accessible to students of all backgrounds.

Mayor Johnson and an esteemed panel joined °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ President Ali Malekzadeh to explore how universities and city leaders can work in partnership to advance education, equity and civic opportunity.

The award recognizes students and faculty who serve as advocates for change and exemplify an ongoing commitment to social justice in the classroom, workplace and community.

Joining the station’s "Making a Difference" segment, President Ali highlighted °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ's continued efforts to accept and platform students and faculty of all backgrounds.

The empowering event focused on allyship, mental health awareness, financial literacy and civic engagement.

The event formally began the University's 80th anniversary celebration and was attended by nearly 200 alumni, faculty, corporate partners and Board of Trustees members.

°ÅÀÖÊÓƵ welcomed activists, academics and authors to discuss empathetic paths forward.

°ÅÀÖÊÓƵ will host numerous on-campus events throughout February to celebrate Black excellence and provide resources to current students.

Salgado serves as the faculty advisor for student organizations such as the LGTQIA+ group RU Proud and the Association of Latin American Students (ALAS).

During the luncheon's Q&A, Ayala-Bermejo discussed the legal challenges facing immigrants at the U.S.-Mexico border and how the Instituto works to support them.
